PATHWAYS CARE LIMITED was founded in 2018 by myself, Ms Thelma Fossung.
I started my career in care, working as a domiciliary care worker for a care agency in London. Having worked in various capacities as a befriender for Mind, support worker for adults with disabilities for many charities such as Mencap and a support worker in a children’s home for a local authority, I enrolled and completed my MA in Social Work.
I have worked, as a social worker for over 12 years with children and families as well as adults with needs. I noticed the gaps in service delivery for the most vulnerable in the community and wanted to do something to provide an improved service for them in the community. My hope is to do more direct work with service users and families and improve the quality service for anyone who works with us.
We aim and work has moved away from a task-oriented approach and we adopt a person centered and outcome focused approach. Our staff focus on the person their support, their wellbeing and their strengths to make sure all who use our services achieve their best possible desired outcome.
Our ethos would be to value you, listen to you, be your voice, to make sure that you are part of the decision-making process that affects your life. We would always place you at the centre of any decision-making process. You would always be consulted and your wishes and feelings obtained. Through your feedback, we would improve service delivery and address any concerns you may have.
Despite the current challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic, we have developed a very stable workforce. Our team of carers work together as a family and support each mother. All users of our service have consistency and get to have the same carers which makes it easy to form positive relationships. We currently serve several private and council funded clients in Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Christchurch, New Milton, and Bournemouth. We are growing steadily and safely with all our clients who are part of the Pathways family.
We promise to treat our clients as individuals with respect and dignity, and to concentrate on matching their specific needs with the skills of our valued care workers. Where there are any identified gaps in service provision, appropriate action would be taken immediately. We continue to go far and beyond the call of our duties to make sure that anyone using the service or their family gets the support they need and we also liaise with other professionals on their behalf, with their consent.
